Venicio Palumbo ha iniziato a suonare la chitarra da autodidatta all’età di 16 anni, esplorando negli anni ’70 il mondo della musica rock e jazz. Successivamente si è dedicato allo studio del liuto partecipando ai Corsi di musica antica della Fondazione Cini a Venezia con maestri come Hopkinson Smith e Nigel North. Con il gruppo di musica antica denominato “Collegium Arniense” ha suonato nelle stagioni concertistiche di alcuni tra i più importanti teatri italiani ed europei, eseguendo inoltre musiche di scena in lavori teatrali e cinematografici (come Il viaggio della sposa di Sergio Rubini, su musiche di Germano Mazzocchetti), partecipando a rievocazioni storiche e incidendo nel 1998 per la Well Music International il CD In Taberna, incentrato sui Carmina Burana. Nel 2013 ha pubblicato per Carisch le trascrizioni per chitarra di trenta Cantigas de Santa Maria.

You add to this the fact that he writes beautifully idiomatically, and you nearly have a very good collection of ten pieces. ... The similarly-textured pieces are perhaps grade 6-ish and would be a welcome diversion to some of the regular grade 6 fayre that teachers use. I would say this book is worth getting for students who have yet to discover these well-trodden sonorities, that we know well but may be new to them. Younger players may we wowed by these pieces.
