I have examined several titles by Italian publisher Ut Orpheus Edizioni and all are exemplary. So is this title, an urtext sample that retains the original version, supplemented by a number of added fingerings and courtesy accidentals, the latter shown in brackets. The fine editorial work was performed by Fabio Rizza. … The music itself, written in a Classical style, is excellent. … Speaking technically, all 4 Improvvisi take a traditional approach to the instrument and are performable by intermediate to advanced players. Considering the high quality of both its textual and musical contents, this publication is well worth owning. (Uroš Dojčinović)
