Stefano Spallotta is an Italian classical guitarist, composer and musicologist. A top graduate of the “L. Refice” Conservatory in Frosinone, he later specialized in solo performance at the “Respighi” Conservatory in Latina and continued his studies with Frédéric Zigante. He also holds degrees in Music and New Technologies and in Musicology, the latter earned at the University of Bologna with a thesis on Alberto Savinio.
Throughout his career, Stefano has combined performance, research and composition. He received prizes in several guitar competitions, including the international “Mauro Giuliani” prize, and has performed widely as a soloist and with orchestra. His activity spans classical, jazz and crossover projects, featuring both original works and collaborations.
As a composer and conductor, he has created music for theatre and revived forgotten works by Italian composers like Bellincampi and Refice. He has collaborated with renowned opera singers and contributed to musical productions, including the touring show “The Sisters”.
Beyond the stage, Stefano works with prestigious music publishers as an editor and engraver. He is also Artistic Director of the Neos Kronos Association and founder of the “Corde di Primavera” guitar festival.
He taught in musical high school for many years and he currently teaches guitar at the “L. Perosi” Conservatory in Campobasso while continuing to perform and compose.
