This edition has to be considered an homage to Manuel María Ponce for the 70th anniversary of his death. The purpose is to correct, through the comparison with the autographs, the many alterations of the text that are in the first (and unique) Peer edition of 1953.
Since this is an educational collection, a great importance is given to fingerings. However, it is meant in a colourful way, often non predictable, with various passages or single notes in high positions with an expressive purpose, aiming at increasing the value of these Preludes, written in a simple language, clear but full of slight nuances. Obviously, these fingerings are only suggestions, and they can be adapted to the many technical and educational needs.
In this edition we have preferred to use the original title 6 Preludios Fáciles and not the one used in the 1953 edition, 6 Preludios Cortos.

... These pieces would be a wonderful way in to Ponce for young students and any syllabus writers for examining boards should look seriously at this wonderful collection. ... (Colin Tommis)
