Riccardo Joshua Moretti studied Composition with M° Gaetano Giani Luporini and Soundtrack Music with M° Nino Rota and Alessandro Cicognini. He composed soundtracks and music for documentaries and incidental music for the theatre. He received the Nino Rota Award by the Russian Composers Union. He worked at La musica nel cinema italiano (13 broadcasts) for RAI. His compositions have been performed in the most important theatres all around the world, in particular his works dedicated to Jewish music, like Ebraica, Midor Ledor and Il canto d’Israele. He has made many recordings, like La storia del soldato by I. Stravinskij (with the spoken voice of Giancarlo Giannini and I Solisti dell'Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Bolshoi) and Golem (with the spoken voice of Adalberto Maria Merli). He has worked for many years with the Lindsay Kemp Company. He got an honour degree at the Chigiana Academy in Siena. He is teacher at the Conservatory «A. Boito» in Parma. He records for the label CNI Music and publishes for Ut Orpheus Edizioni.
