Mattia Culmone (*1986)
Mattia Culmone, born in Rovereto in 1986, obtained the degree in piano and in choral composition in 2008. In 2013 he finished his composition studies with professor C. Colazzo and got a master degree in choral conducting with M° L. Donati.
As a composer he won several prizes in national and international contests. Some of his compositions have been performed in Italy and abroad (Germany, Poland, Japan, US).
He often works and composes for many different choral or instrumental groups, made by both professionals and amateurs.
In 2013 he won the special prize “E. Cumer” for his musical and choral activity in his region.
He is the main conductor of 3 different choirs in Trentino (“I musici cantori”, “Coro Rigoverticale”, “Coro Monte Stivo”), and tries to promote with them new and unknow choral repertoire, both in poliphony and popular-folk music.
In 2010 he won a prize awarded by the conservatory “G. Verdi” in Milan for a musicological research on the local composer R. Dionisi.
