Sandro Filippi (*1958)

Born in Trento, Sandro Filippi has studied with R. Dionisi, B. Zanolini and C. Pirola and obtained diplomas in Polyphonic vocal composition, Band Instrumentation and Choral music and Choir conduction by the conservatories of Milan and Verona.
He has won the 2nd price at the Second International Composition Competition “Ivan Spassov” in Plovdiv (Bulgaria), the Fifth edition oth the Composition Competition “Paolo Valenti – Musica e Sport” with Volley (Rome, 1997, President of the Jury: Roman Vlad) for children’s choir and instruments Orff and the First edition of the Concorso nazionale Città di Pontremoli 2001 in didactics. Some of his works have been performed in several events both in Italy and abroad by “Tone Tomsic” choir (Lubiana), “Noble Voices” choir (Bergen), “I piccolo musici” Casazza (Bergamo), Coro Giovanile Italiano, “I minipolifonici” & SAT choir (Trento), “Corale Zumellese” (Mel/Belluno) and many of them have been published by Pizzicato, Carrara, Pro MUsica Studium, Suvini Zerbini, Edizioni Musicali Europee, Edition Music-Contact and Feniarco. A certain amount of his pieces has become compulsory piece in choral competitions.
Nowadays he teaches “Choral conduction and repertoire” for Music didactics an the conservatory in Bolzano.
