Saúl Chapela (*1988)
Saúl Chapela studied piano with Nicasio Gradaille and Pablo Galdo, and composition with David Cuevas and Carlos Cambeiro, in the Conservatorio Superior de Música of Vigo. He also studied with Jan Müller-Wieland and Hans-Jürgen von Bose in the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where nowadays he attends a Master of Music in Composition.
As a composer, he has won the first international prize at the Boston GuitarFest Composition Competition 2012 (Catarsis for guitar) and the first prize at the Composition Competition Manuel Quiroga 2013 (Old Leaves for violin and string orchestra). Also, he was presented by the Junge Solisten des Siemens Stiftung in Munich.
